Delhi Fire Live: CM Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia reach Mundka fire site

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday visited the Mundka fire site with Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. During his visit, the chief minister announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy. Rs 50,000 each will be given to the injured.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team continues to carry out a search and rescue operation in the four-story building that was gutted in a massive fire on Friday (May 13) near the Mundka metro station in New Delhi.
As per the official toll, the fire has so far claimed 29 lives and several were njured. However, the blaze was brought under control, informed the fire officials.
Meanwhile, the controversial Gyanvapi Masjid video survey is all set to begin on Saturday after Supreme Court’s order. The administration has deployed a heavy police force outside the complex to avoid any communal disharmony or anti-law situation.
On Covid-19, India reports 2,858 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, slightly higher than yesterday’s numbers.
3,355 patients have been recovered while 11 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. The total active cases are 18,096. The Daily positivity rate stands at 0.59%
